Rakon is proud of its latest nomination as a multi-category finalist in the prestigious Femto Forum Awards (UK). Rakon has been selected as a finalist for awards in three categories: Enabling Technology, Outstanding Individual Contribution and the overall Judges Choice Award.
The nominations reflect its outstanding family of products and the contribution these, and it people, have made to the development of the Femtocell technology. Rakon’s “Convergence Product” families (Mercury, Triton and Pluto) comprises three unique, previously non-existent products, developed by Rakon and built on more than 30 years experience to create the unique technologies.
Rakon Managing Director, Brent Robinson, said these products were the result of extensive R&D programmes Rakon had undertaken. They had created a critical first step that has allowed the miniaturisation and cost effectiveness of femtocells to be realised and made them an important part of new mobile networks. Rakon’s products are now in more than 85% of deployed femtocells.
Rakon’s Business Development Manager Mary Carbin is the finalist for the Individual Contribution Award and Robinson noted Rakon was delighted at the Forum’s recognition of Mary’s contribution.
The Femto Forum is the independent industry and operator association that supports femtocell deployment worldwide. The awards were open to the whole industry and judged independently of the Femto Forum. Entries came from vendors and operators from across the world and the full spectrum of the mobile value chain.
