Winning Week for Rakon

24th June 2011, Auckland, New Zealand: Rakon (NZX:RAK) continues its winning ways, taking out the Judges’ choice award in the UK Femto Forum for its contribution to the growth of the femtocell and smallcell market through Rakon-developed oscillators.

The company was called “one of the unsung heroes behind many of the world’s femtocell deployments,” by Chairman of Judges Dean Bubley, founder and director at Disruptive Analysis.

“Not only has the company been a workhorse in the Femto Forum, but its oscillator technology ensures femtocells fundamentally operate effectively and cost-effectively in a wide variety of contexts,” he said.

It completes a winning week for Rakon, which was named winner of the Supreme Award at the Air New Zealand Cargo Auckland Export Awards 2011.  Those judges commended Rakon for its strong revenue growth through the global financial downturn since 2008; for successfully identifying new market requirements, and expanding both its volume of output and the range of products marketed worldwide from its international headquarters in Auckland.  Rakon was also awarded the Endace Hi-Tech Exporter of the Year Award 2011.

Brent Robinson, Rakon CEO said Rakon had achieved strong revenue growth across all markets in the past financial year, contributing to the company’s goals of building a truly global business headquartered in NZ.
