Through years of development and optimisation of electronic circuitry and crystal design, Rakon offers a world leading range of OCXO products with unparalleled performance.
Rakon has a complete range of precision solutions from OCXOs capable of replacing expensive Rubidium clocks in SDH/SONET Stratum 2 applications through to low profile oven oscillator products. Rakon’s self calibrating OCXOs can maintain stabilities of better than ±16 ppb
(1.6 x 10-8) over the product’s entire life time and can achieve stabilities of less than 0.05 ppb (5 x 10-11) over temperature.
Rakon’s CFPODO series ‘super single oven’ OCXOs deliver performance as good or better than competing double oven OCXOs, but from a smaller low cost device. The CFPODO offers stability of ±0.1 ppb (±1.0 x 10-10) over its operating temperature range, while its superior stability under all operating conditions yields 24 hour holdover better than 7µs. It is suitable as a frequency source and time keeping reference for all synchronization systems. A self calibrating version is available.
Other OCXO products include high precision, low phase noise and low profile ovens. Rakon’s ‘Triton’ series of low cost OCXOs bridge the gap between ultra-stable TCXOs and traditional high end OCXOs in terms of cost, stability, size, weight and power consumption.
The Triton™ product family combines proprietary ASIC compensation technology with simplified oven control to create a hybrid product capable of stabilities down to 25ppb (2.5 x 10-8) over temperature.
Combining oven technology with Rakon’s proprietary Pluto temperature compensation, Triton delivers stability better than ±50ppb in a DIL-14 leaded package (RFPO20) and in a 14.0 x 9.0 mm reflowable surface mount package (RFPO30). |

Rakon’s ultra stable TCXO products offer the highest frequency stability performance achievable from a TCXO. These TCXOs address markets that require near OCXO performance, but without the high cost or power consumption.
Ultra-stable TCXOs based on Rakon’s proprietary Pluto technology address high volume applications where very high stability is required. Pluto incorporates tilt compensation to eliminate the detrimental effects of adjusting a TCXO’s control voltage to allow for long term drift. The Pluto-based 7.0 x 5.0 mm CFPT-9000 series and 5.0 x 3.0 mm CFPT-9300 series TCXOs offer stability better than ±100 ppb over commercial temperature ranges.
The Pluto™ and Barracuda™ TCXO product families fulfil the requirements of demanding communications and precision GPS markets. With stabilities as tight as 100ppb (1 x 10-7) over temperature and a variety of output options, these products are ideal for wireless home base stations, rescue beacons and other high volume, stability demanding applications.
The Pluto family are the only products in the world to address the often ignored problem of voltage control tilt in VCTCXO devices. |

Rakon has developed a range of high stability TCXO products for mass volume consumer applications. These products have become the default standard for consumer GPS and other performance critical volume applications.
Rakon pioneered the 0.5ppm TCXO and supplies products down to 2.0 x 2.5 mm with frequency slopes of <50ppb/°C.
These products come in a variety of form factors, from the larger 7.0 x 5.0 mm footprint through to miniature 2.5 x 2.0 mm packages with height less than 1.0 mm. All offer high stability (<0.5ppm) over demanding temperature ranges and very low frequency slope (ppb/°C) at highly competitive costs.
Ideal for consumer GPS such as personal navigation devices and cellular phones as well as other demanding applications. |

A range of solutions are available with frequencies up to 700MHz with CMOS, PECL or LVDS outputs.
Rakon has expertise in high performance, low jitter, low phase noise VCXOs for demanding applications, including telecommunications and test and measurement.
Rakon also offer commercial products such as a 27 MHz VCXO in 5.0 x 3.2 and 7.0 x 5.0 mm packages for video applications. |

Rakon’s patented HiG™ crystals can withstand shocks of greater than 20,000G and are extremely resistant to frequency noise induced by vibration. |

Specialty Products
Rakon has excelled at innovative solutions to problems based around frequency control. The GRM, GPS RF Front End Module is a complete GPS Radio ready to be integrated with hardware or software basebands. The GPS RF Front End Radio Module is the world’s smallest GPS Radio. As a more complete RF solution, test time and design time are virtually eliminated. Designed to interface with software processing solutions it is a cost neutral, fast turn around solution for GPS hardware designers.
The TSXO products, Temperature Sensing Crystal Oscillators, offer exceptional stabilities from miniature, low power packages.
Rakon manufactures a range of application specific products and is able to design unique frequency control based solutions for our customers. These products include high frequency VCXOs and low jitter XOs as well as advanced specialty modules, such as the GPS RF Front End Radio.
