Rakon France has become an active partner of both CNES and ESA with significant new space projects!
February 2013: Rakon is proud to announce it has signed four different contracts with the CNES agency (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales) to provide innovative technological solutions for:
- Development of SMD crystal and programmable XO family
- Development of a die for mini Space TCXO and OCXO to reduce the cost and the size of the oscillator
- Development of a new gluing process for space oscillators in order to resist to higher and higher shocks and vibrations
- Evaluation of new quartz cuts and inverted mesa crystal resonator to address the demand of higher and higher frequencies for space applications.
Rakon’s contribution to France and Europe’s competitive edge in space applications has been achieved through working on projects in close cooperation with the CNES and the ESA (European Space Agency). Through its expertise, ability to innovate and its forward-looking vision, Rakon is a real source of leading-edge technological solutions aimed at meeting the challenge to get cost-effective and smaller form factor products, delivered with shorter lead-times, to meet the demanding requirements of the major international space programs.
Rakon is also a key player of the European space industry working in close cooperation with ESA and within two years, will be the first European source of space crystal oscillator (XO) on the ESA’s Qualified Part List!
In the coming decades, the ESA’s adventurous science programme involves sending satellites and humans into space to enhance our understanding of our near-Earth environment and our place in the Universe. Rakon is proud to be part of this exploration of science and space!
