Korean Member of the New Politics Alliance for Democracy Party, Visits Rakon

Mr Hojoon Chyung, member of the New Politics Alliance for Democracy and first term assemblyman representing the Jung-gu, electoral district of Seoul, visited Rakon’s headquarters in Auckland yesterday.
Mr Chyung is currently in New Zealand visiting under Prime Minister John Key’s Fellowship Programme. The visit was planned to discuss New Zealand’s science and technology sector and areas of cooperation between Korea and New Zealand.
Mr Chyung is active in the standing committees of the National Assembly and sits on the influential Science, ICT, Future Planning, Broadcasting and Communications Committee; the Special Committee on Creative Economy Promotion and the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts. He has an interest in New Zealand’s ICT, science industry, creative economy, business startups and venture firms.
Rakon’s CEO Mr Brent Robinson said of the visit: “We were delighted to meet with Mr Chyung and show him our global headquarters. South Korea leads the world in the development of the latest high performance telecommunication products and equipment, which is a key target market for Rakon. We hope that his visit to New Zealand may help provide opportunities for both New Zealand and Korean businesses in the future.”
