March 2013: Rakon has a strong heritage in the space industry and is the Ultra Stable Oscillator supplier of choice with over 50 Flight Models flying for twenty years in prestigious international space programs: SAR-Lupe, ARGOS- 3, Satcom BW, AMOS-4, Alphabus and HTV. As recently as February 25, 2013 the Indo-French oceanographic study satellite SARAL was successfully launched carrying two independent payloads, ARGOS-3 and AltiKa, that use Rakon’s Ultra stable oscillators and Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillators!
Rakon France has become an active partner of both CNES and ESA with significant new space projects!
February 2013: Rakon is proud to announce it has signed four different contracts with the CNES agency (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales) to provide innovative technological solutions for:
- Development of SMD crystal and programmable XO family
- Development of a die for mini Space TCXO and OCXO to reduce the cost and the size of the oscillator
- Development of a new gluing process for space oscillators in order to resist to higher and higher shocks and vibrations
- Evaluation of new quartz cuts and inverted mesa crystal resonator to address the demand of higher and higher frequencies for space applications.
Rakon oscillators launched into Space on environmental mission on board the Indo-French SARAL satellite!
