VCXO and VCSO Overview

Rakon has expertise in a broad range of high performance and high reliability Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillators (VCXOs), and high frequency & low phase noise performance Voltage Controlled SAW Oscillators (VCSOs). 

The high performance range of VCXOs feature low jitter, low phase noise and selectable output frequencies; which make them ideal for applications in the Global Positioning and Telecommunications markets. The high reliability space VCXO are designed and manufactured to meet MIL standards.

The low power range of VCSOs enable the ultimate performance in applications requiring excellent phase noise at high frequencies. They are ideally suited for Electronic Warfare (EW), avionics, instrumentation, high speed converters and low jitter applications.

High Reliability Space VCXO

PROFILE: The high reliability Space VCXO is designed and manufactured to meet MIL standards. The high performance VCXO features excellent Absolute Pulling Range (APR) of ±200 ppm, good aging characteristics of ±1 to ±5 ppm per year , low power consumption of 0.1W, compact package size, and a weight of 20g.

APPLICATIONS: Space Synthesizers and Transponders, Frequency Generation Units (FGU), GPS receivers, Down and up converters and Onboard calculators.

New Space VCXO

PROFILE: The series of radiation tolerant VCXOs are available in a 5.0 x 3.2 mm SMD package. They are specifically designed for missions where resistance to demanding enviroment.

APPLICATIONS: New Space applications and rugged environment where TID limit of 72/100 kRad and latch-up free till 32.4/62 MeV are required.

High Frequency and Low Phase Noise VCSO

PROFILE: The VCSO series is ideal for the latest generation of high speed converters, which require a high frequency clock with low jitter. The RSV2522-800, RSV2522-1000, RSV2522-1600 and RSV2522-2000 generate frequencies of 800MHz, 1GHz, 1.6GHz and 2GHz respectively.

APPLICATIONS: Electronic Warfare (EW), Avionics, Instrumentation and Telecommunications applications and markets.
