Its stability affected the system’s ability to locate, track, maintain lock and acquire weak satellite signals. Through many years of collaboration with leading manufacturers in the industry, Rakon pioneered the optimal way to design, manufacture and test oscillators to address the unique requirements of GNSS systems. We do this through carefully listening and developing an innate understanding of the application’s requirements and backing this with world leading processes, innovations and technology.
We maintain a technology and market leadership position with majority market share in applications such as personal navigation devices and rescue beacons. Higher performance and lower costs mean volumes are continuing to grow and more uses are rapidly emerging for applications such as geotagging and location based social networking.
Rakon’s market leadership position and working closely with the industry ensures its technology is designed into many of the new location-based devices, high precision GNSS instruments and next generation solutions such as agriculture, construction and GIS mapping.
The positioning market includes consumer devices (navigation, sport and recreation) and industry applications for high precision GPS instruments (surveying, mining, agriculture), automotive, Real Time Kinematic (RTK) and COSPAS SARSAT emergency beacons. Products are designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
