Rakon Introduces High Frequency Ultra Stable TCXOs for Low Jitter and Phase Noise Applications
Rakon announces the release of its new RHT1490 product series of high frequency and low jitter ultra-stable TCXOs that are available in frequencies from 50 MHz to 204.8 MHz. The RHT1490 delivers world class telecommunications grade stability with a low RMS phase jitter of <200 fs (12 kHz – 20 MHz).
This product platform’s frequency output enables lower system jitter, allowing communication system architects to optimise noise budget and performance.
Rakon Has Released a New Application Note for Network Synchronisation Timing Requirements
The Application Note outlines synchronisation performance and temperature profile options of quartz crystal based oscillator timing sources for network synchronisation – to satisfy the requirements for stable clocks.
Network equipment of different deployment scenarios such as macro basestations and small cells, or outdoor housed equipment vs indoor equipment, may have the same performance expectations – but different cost targets. Specifically for synchronisation, oscillator performance is key, and very much dependant on the ambient temperature changes. This paper discusses practical temperature profiles, which may be considered for synchronisation performance testing, based on oscillator performances at various cost levels. Synchronisation testing in practical, realistic conditions saves considerable equipment cost by including the right components from the outset.

Appointment of New Directors to the Rakon Board

Lorraine Witten – Appointed as Independent Director
Lorraine is currently the Chair of Kordia Group Limited, Star Now Limited, vWork Limited, Soltius Limited and also a Director of WREDA (Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency). Lorraine is also a founding shareholder and current Chair of Simply Security Limited, Member of the Department of Corrections Audit & Risk Committee and previously held numerous other Board and governance roles.
Keith Oliver – Appointed as Independent Director
Keith is currently a Director of ALTO Capital Limited, Chair of Blackhawk Tracking Systems Limited and Health Vision (NZ) Limited. Keith is also a Director of Vigil Monitoring Limited and previously held numerous other Board and governance roles.
Yin Tang Tseng – Appointed as Director
Yin Tang (Tony) is the current Chairman of Siward Crystal Technology Co. Limited (Siward). Taiwan based Siward, a world leader of crystal and oscillator solutions, hold a 16.6% share in Rakon Limited following their investment in February 2017.
Allotment of Securities as Siward Investment Completes

Further to the announcement by Rakon Limited (“Rakon”) on 19 December 2016, Taiwanese company Siward Crystal Technology Co. Limited (“Siward”) has today paid Rakon USD 10 million. In turn, Rakon has allotted to Siward 38,016,681 new ordinary shares and will now move to meet the requirements of a technology license signed by the parties. The allotment gives Siward an after placement stake of 16.6% in the Auckland-headquartered global technology company.
