Rakon Environmental Statement
Rakon recognises the importance of looking after our world. Across its global facilities, Rakon is integrating an Environmental Management System (EMS) to deliver continuous improvement in this area.
Through its advanced technologies, Rakon’s products are continuously becoming smaller, higher performing and they are consuming far less power than legacy designs. This enables its customers to reduce the size of their products; further minimising waste and energy and significantly providing global environmental benefits.
Rakon aims to develop products, manufacturing processes and technologies which are as friendly to the environment as possible. The results to date from its EMS initiatives have been very positive. Even with production volumes increasing, energy consumption, carbon emissions and wastage have been reduced.
Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS2/RoHS3) and Substances of Very High Concern (REACH) Policy
Rakon is committed to a clean, green, environment and fully supports all directives that encourage this. Rakon actively pursues methods for reducing harmful materials in all products manufactured and maintains compliant materials to all required standards. In particular Rakon will produce products that do not contain any chemicals, compounds or elements in compliance with RoHS2 (EU Directive 2011/65/EU), RoHS 3 (EU Directive 2015/863) amending Annex II to Directive 2011/65/EU on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronics equipment and EC 1907/2006 on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical Substances (REACH) – Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).
Lead (Pb) Free Policy
Wherever it is technically and commercially viable Rakon will move its products to a Lead (Pb) free process that is compliant with international regulations and directives.
Where a product is not able to be moved to a compliant process Rakon will offer an alternative product which is compliant.
Our intention is that all Rakon products that are non compliant will be phased out over a period of time as customers stop using them.
Rakon will not discontinue any product without offering a viable and agreed alternative to its customers and supporting them fully through the changeover process.
Conflict Minerals Statement
Rakon is committed to the highest standards of global social responsibility and will not condone any abuse of human rights. In this context the Company fully supports international actions for the responsible global supply chain management of tin, tantalum, tungsten, gold and cobalt and the prevention of human rights abuses in conflict-affected and high-risk areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and surrounding areas.

Based upon information provided by our suppliers through Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) standards, Rakon's products do not knowingly contain metals derived from the DRC conflict region.
